Emergence

'Emergence' is made of willow sticks wrapped around a tubing with cotton fabric and painted white.

It is held above the ground by two poles and is illuminated from below by white light.

This artwork was exhibited in Magheraoarty Beach in July and in Letterkenny Town Park in September 2013.

 

 

 

Biodiversity Dream

'Biodiversity Dream' is made of willow and paper circles stictched together by cotton string with paper. On the layers of paper are placed cut-out shapes of card of characters, creatures, natural forms and symbols.

The structure is painted with water soluable pink and green inks and illuminated by white light.

This artwork was exhibited in Magheraoarty Beach in July and in Letterkenny Town Park in September 2012.

Swarm

'Swarm' is made of willow and paper and illuminated by orange light.

Inside the heart shaped structure is the recording of a swarm of bees buzzing.

This artwork was exhibited in Magheraoarty Beach in July and in Letterkenny Town Park in September 2012.

 

 

Welcome Home

'Welcome Home' is interactive. The viewer is invited to look into the hole in the old tree and inside is a mirror showing the viewers face illuminated by red light.

The wood is a front section of an old tree found in a bog.

This artwork was exhibited in Magheraoarty Beach in July and in Letterkenny Town Park in September 2011.

Bog Offering

'Bog Offering' is made of bog wood. On it is placed the mica crystal lepidolite.

On the roots of the tree are handmade paper cocoon-like bowls containing crushed crystals and water. The white light shines upon the wood and paper bowls to reflect off water, crystal and wood.

The crystals used are lepidolite, amethyst, rose quartz, phantom quartz, agate and jade.

This artwork was exhibited in Magheraoarty Beach in July and in Letterkenny Town Park in September 2011.

 

Bog Offering Sculpture by Aoife Valley

 

 

Return of the Goddess

'Return of the Goddess' is a sculpture made from found beach glass and wood found on Ballyness Bay and Falcarragh Beaches.

This Goddess is a tribute to the power of recycling - creating something fresh and beautiful from that which is discarded as rubbish.

She was exhibited in July and then as part of Culture Night in Letterkenny Town Park in September 2010.

Return of the Goddess now resides is Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
